Understanding Shae's Story is going on a Christmas break! I'll be in Arlington, Texas for 2 weeks, visiting my mom and other relatives! I'm leaving tomorrow at noon, and coming back on January 1, 2011. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, and spends time with people they love! There's nothing better than sitting in a cozy living room, drinking hot cocoa, watching The Polar Express, while being surrounded by people you love, right?

Dirty Little Secret #5
Dirty Little Secret is a weekly meme hosted by Under the Covers. Every Thursday we get to know other bloggers and our readers more intimately by asking them a question hoping to reveal their dirty little secrets. We hope that you will all join us!
"Say you're hosting a Christmas dinner party. Which three fictional characters would you like to invite?"
Well for Christmas, I would want very fun, lively characters at my dinner party! With that said, I'd definitely pick Jacob Black (Twilight series), Rose Hathaway (Vampire Academy series), and Heath Luck (House of Night series). I say Jacob Black because he seems like a really fun guy, who's always smiling and laughing, and he's well... not harsh on the eyes, if you know what I mean. Rose Hathaway only because she is so bluntly hilarious in the VA series and she'd be able to teach me some awesome kill moves, which would kind of ruin the peaceful Christmas mood but *shrugs*. And Heath Luck (Before he died, that is) because he also seems like a really charismatic, upbeat guy who would be cracking jokes the whole entire night! He so didn't deserve to have his neck broken... Darn you, Kalona!

Review + Excerpt: Happy Birthday to Me by Brian Rowe
Seventeen-year-old Cameron Martin has a huge problem: he’s aging a whole year of his life with each passing day!
High school is hard enough; imagine rapidly aging from seventeen to seventy in a matter of weeks, with no logical explanation, and with prom, graduation, and the state championship basketball game all on the horizon. That’s what happens to Cameron, a popular pretty boy who's never had to face a day looking anything but perfect.
All Cameron wants to do is go back to normal, but no one, not even the best doctors, can diagnose his condition. When he finds love with a mysterious young woman, however, he realizes his only hope for survival might be with the one person who started his condition in the first place...
Overall Thoughts:
This was such a light, fun, easy read!
Happy Birthday to Me is about a popular boy named Cameron Martin. He's pretty much that cliche star basketball player type. He has a beautiful girlfriend named Charisma Kellog, and his family isn't hurting financially either, if you know what I mean.
The only flaw is that Cameron is a self-absorbed jerk! And he takes it too far when he pisses off the beautiful, young, red-headed Liesel Maupin. She casts a spell on Cameron that makes him age a whole entire year of his life with each passing day. Nice. The older he ages, the more physically disgusting he gets; he starts developing a beer belly, gray hair, wrinkles, ear hair (Eeesh!), the works.
Eventually, his whole "I'm so freaking awesome!" demeanor wears off, and you get to see the real Cameron. He's actually a really great guy when he's not all about himself! His and Liesel's relationship starts to get closer as well, but he isn't aware that she is the one who cast the spell in the first place. The closer they become, the more guilty Liesel starts to feel. She really likes Cameron and it turns out that she is going to be the cause of his downfall *gulps*. So she has to find some way to reverse the spell as fast as she can or else... it's bye-bye Cameron.
Things I disliked about this book:
The only negative thing that I can say about this book is that it made me afraid of getting older, but that was the point so it's not really a bad thing.
Things I liked about this book:
It's such a fun read! I read it so quickly, and enjoyed it! And once I finished it, I was so appreciative of everything and everybody in my life!

Verdict:
This book was really good! If you're ever tired of deep, thought-provoking, emotional books and in need of a light read, I definitely recommend this book!

Happy Birthday to Me Again is the next book in this trilogy!
The third book, Happy Birthday to You just came out!
4/5 TARGETS!
Excerpt:
"Liesel put her hands against my chest and started crying. "Don't die, Cameron... please, don't die..."
"Liesel..."
"Don't leave me... Cameron..."
"Liesel, I don't feel a thing..."
I looked at my hands. The skin was still rough and paper thin. I wasn't any better. I was still old, still old and dying."

Dirty Litte Secret #4
Dirty Little Secret is a weekly meme hosted by Under the Covers. Every Thursday we get to know other bloggers and our

dirty little secrets. We hope that you will all join us!
Rhage from the Black Dagger Brotherhood series definitely! There's just something about Rhage... Okay granted, his movie star good looks is probably what I'm referring to. Though his story wasn't my favorite (Wrath and Beth's story was completely epic!), it touched me. Rhage is the deadliest out of them all, but he's also the one who's always joking around. I like that! I would definitely love to stare into those green/blue eyes on Christmas morning, you know? *wink wink* Gosh, Mary is one lucky chick.
